Justin, the founder of The Law Department has more than seventeen years experience in both private practice and industry. He specialises in a range of legal areas including Commercial Law, Property Law, Franchising Law and Outsourcing.
Prior to setting up The Law Department, Justin worked at Jay Benning Levine & Peltz, before moving to the Tanning Shop as their company solicitor in 1995. He subsequently rose to the position of Legal Director of Bodycare International Ltd (the parent company to The Tanning Shop). He was then approached to join TDG plc in 2002 as Senior Legal Counsel. When he decided to set up The Law Department in 2006, TDG plc became his first client.
Outside of work, Justin has his hands full with three young children. He is a keen runner and having completed the London Marathon in 2010, has his sights set on New York in 2012. He and his wife also manage their local community nursery.
Justin was originally destined for a career in economics. However, as a concession to his father (who is also a lawyer) he agreed to take one law course while studying Economics at university. He discovered that he enjoyed the law course more than anything else he was studying, so switched and the rest is history.
