Philippa has over seventeen years experience of commercial law, specialising in employment issues and property law.
After qualifying in 1994, she went to the Warden Housing Association as their first in-house solicitor. She had responsibility for managing repossession cases involving tenants and the landlords, and provided advice to the firm in a number of complex cases. She then moved to TDG plc, a logistics company with a turnover of approx £500 million per annum, working as part of their in-house team. Here she focused on drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, including outsourcing and IT and terms and conditions. She also managed a substantial amount of commercial property work and dealt with TUPE issues as a key part of outsourcing contracts.
Philippa was then invited to join the Corporate Services Group (owner of Blue Arrow and Medacs) which provides locum doctors to the NHS. This involved commercial contract work and resolving employment issues. She has been working with The Law Department for four years.
In her limited spare time, Philippa enjoys doing activities with her children and is also heavily involved her local school’s parent-teacher association.
